About GenerationS Preaccelerator

Preaccelerator is a federal training program for start-ups at  early stages (pre-sowing and sowing) to participate in the GenerationS corporate tracks.

In 2017, a network of regional departments for Pre-accelerators and support to the participants was created. Training courses will be held in 7 cities: Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Moscow, Rostov-on-don, Samara, Saint Petersburg and Tomsk.

Pre-accelerator includes online training and on-site intensive courses that will help entrepreneurs adjust their products and take the project to the next development stage. A mentor will support each project team during the program. The best Pre-accelerator projects will get an opportunity to compete for participation in the GenerationS-2017 federal final in April 2018.

Scheduling of the GenerationS Predaxer:
Educational program of the GenerationS-2017 Preaccelerator includes:
1. Preaccelerator online program

The participants will work on and structure their business ideas, create project development plan and receive feedback from the mentors and experts of the regional departments of GenerationS Pre-accelerator.

Within the framework of online program the team will get:

  • project elaboration together with a mentor
  • increase of the competence level of the project team members
  • assistance in filing in the application for participation in Generations-2018 accelerator
  • support in submission of the applications for grants provided by the Foundation for support to innovation.

2. The on-site intensive course and Demo Day of the regional program

Pre-accelerator participants will pass through the free educational program based on the GenerationS regional departments.

  • project business model
  • target audience and consumer research
  • value proposition
  • MVP
  • projects design and presentation

At the end of the program, Demo Day will be held in every of 7 cities. Investor and experts will select 2 best projects that will be supported by mentors up to the GenerationS Pre-accelerator Final.

3. GenerationS-2017 Pre-accelerator Final

14 best Pre-accelerator projects will be able to present their developments to the GenerationS investors and partners and will participate in a special pitch-session at the GenerationS-2017 federal final in Moscow that will be held on April 2018. The Pre-accelerator winning teams will get to the GenerationS-2018 corporate tracks without the additional expertise.

The program includes:
  • Support in the formation of a project team;
  • Providing the projects with mentors accompanying the projects throughout the entire duration of Preaccelerator;
  • Increasing the level of competence of team members in the business area;
  • Assistance in the development of prototypes.
Preaccelerator will be held from 14 November 2016 to 1 July 2017 in several stages:
1. Online Preaccelerator

During online Preaccelerator, participants undergo a theoretical course on the key topics of technology entrepreneurship, finalizing their projects in accordance with the acquired knowledge, receive comments from their mentors and fill out the extended project profile (e.g. profiles describing the team, product, market, and other aspects).

According to the results of this stage, around 100 projects to participate in the full-time program will be selected from those participants who have completed the online program and filled out the extended profile.

2. Assistance to the Preaccelerator participants in the implementation of the technical components of their projects

The best participants of Online Preaccelerator will be given the opportunity to work on the creation of prototypes of their products on the basis of regional technology-equipped infrastructure platforms (CYIC, FabLabs, etc.) with minimum material and time costs.

3. A full-time intensive program, combined with the Final of the Corporate GenerationS accelerators

This special 3-day full-time program includes the acquaintance of the participants with the experts, successful entrepreneurs, representatives of corporations and governmental authorities, as well as trainings and workshops to develop practical skills, networking of the Program participants and finalists of the Corporate tracks.

During the full-time intensive program, a speed-dating session will be organized in which the Preaccelerator participants will be able to find mentors for their projects.

4. Individual work with Preaccelerator projects

During the next 3 months after the full-time intensive program, the individual work of Preaccelerator participants with their personal mentors will be organized. Consultations will be held both on a face-to-face basis and remotely. Following the first consultation with the supervising mentor, the projects should have goals and objectives for the development of the project for the entire period of individual work. The results of each consultation will be included in the extended project profile.

5. The Demo Day of the Preaccelerator Federal program

At the end of the Preaccelerator program, 50-70 projects, selected from among those with the created detailed business models and developed prototypes of their products, will be allowed to the Demo Day of the Preaccelerator Federal program.

These projects, from which start-ups with the greatest potential in the application of Russian corporations and the National Technology Initiative (NTI) will be selected, and they will become candidates for further participation in corporate GenerationS-2017 accelerators.
