As early as today, contestants in four GenerationS Tracks will present their projects to experts during pitch sessions. Every one of them is surely worrying and trying to find any good signs that would assure the contestants’ success today. If you were looking for encouragement, this is it: three guest speakers at the coaching session have offered advice on how to make a successful presentation. Oh yes: and we wish you luck!
Vladimir Yumashev, Director, Tax Law, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited:
“Put yourself into investors’ shoes: think what they might need, what they may find important and interesting. Pay attention to the questions. Make sure you answer the questions you were actually asked, not the questions you think you heard.”
Alexander Galitsky, Founder, Almaz Capital Partners:
“Remember this: you know you stuff. Bring home to the investor the idea that you know how your project can solve an existing problem that concerns a lot of people. Prove to them that you are the professionals who can solve it.”
Boris Ryabov, Managing Partner, Bright Capital:
“Your objectives must match the investors’ objectives. If this is not the case, you are going to have problems. Investors generally do not like projects where the project authors want to spend their entire lives doing just one thing. It makes more sense for them to invest in something you are going to sell at a profit in five years. Bear this in mind: be flexible, adapt!”
