Deputy General Director of the Moscow Center for Innovative Development (CID) Ekaterina Bulycheva spoke at the annual StartUP Travel conference in the Strogino Technology Park. Ekaterina noted the importance of participation of the Moscow City Hall in developing modern cutting-edge technologies.
The Moscow CID and the Russian Venture Company are organizers of the nationwide Russian GenerationS accelerator contest for startups.
“Moscow is facing an important challenge these days — becoming an attractive location for developing a high-technology business,” Ekaterina said.
CID is building a complex system of actions, developing ways to support the development of new projects which can turn into strong Russian manufacturers, to achieve this goal, according to Ekaterina.
The GenerationS contest creates the opportunity to select the best innovative projects all across Russia, which promise to become smart solutions for the urban environment.
“Many projects cannot grow and develop quickly without access to opportunities available in Moscow,” Bulycheva emphasized, “and so, the objective of the Russian capital is to bring to bear all the benefits of the system of urban support. Our center, together with other institutions in the city, is working on this. We have developed to date a new tool that would streamline access to the whole spectrum of city programs for technology startups and create favorable conditions for their development — a “universal pass” to access a unified, well-coordinated support system – the Moscow Innovation Passport.”
