Khanty-Mansiysk Technology Park’s Projects to Participate in the Track Program

Tomsk Region’s Deputy Governor for Science, Education and Innovation Policy Alexey Knyazev has invited resident projects from the Khanty-Mansiysk High Technology Park to participate in the BiotechMed acceleration program. The new participants join the contest for RUB 5 million in prize money

Alexey Knyazev visited the Khanty-Mansiysk High Technology Park during the VI International BRICS IT Forum. The High Tech Park currently has 104 active residents, including 13 working on biotech and healthcare projects.

The regional government of Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District is planning to support the development of biotech in the region, CEO of the Technology Park Yury Reutov said.

“This topic has a very high priority for us,” Reutov also said. “We might even establish a biotech engineering center.”

“The BiotechMed accelerator will enable us to support promising projects in the biotech field,” Alexey Knyazev emphasized. “I see this as a good opportunity for startups not only to receive training, but also to find investors.”

In 2014, the Tomsk State University won the RVC contest to host the BiotechMed accelerator as part of the GenerationS Contest for technology startups organized by the Moscow Center for Innovative Development (CID) and the Russian Venture Company (RVC). Program participants will receive high-intensity training and will get an opportunity to present their projects to a panel of investment judges and compete for RUB 5 million in prize money.
