Very soon, the CleanTech Track of the nationwide GenerationS Accelerator Contest for technology startups will announce the best 10 projects in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and resource saving technology. The name of the winners will be announced during the second Russian nationwide Startup Village Conference. Contest judges have their work cut out for them, as 300 project teams from all across Russia and nations of the Former Soviet Union are now contesting the 10 spots in the finals.
At 2:45 p.m. on June 2, 2014, Sergey Arkhipov, Head of CleanTech Open Moscow (the CleanTech Track Operator), a successful technology entrepreneur, a graduate of MIT and Harvard, will deliver the opening address and launch the CleanTech Track Finals.
At 2:55 p.m., presentations will start by 20 of the most interesting project teams in the CleanTech Track, selected from 300 candidates. Every project will receive five minutes for the presentation and another two minutes for Q&A.
At 5:20 p.m., spokespeople for the RVC and the Skolkovo Foundation will deliver the closing statement, and the judges will recess for deliberations.
CleanTech Track finalists will begin to be announced
at 5:35 p.m. on the third floor of the Skolkovo Hypercube. Entrepreneurs will present their projects in pitch sessions before the celebration of the winners begins during the formal Startup Village program.
Sergey Arkhipov will give awards to the ten finalist project teams. Representatives of the Russian Venture Company (RVC) and Skolkovo Foundation will attend the awards ceremony.
CleanTech is one of four tracks in the GenerationS Accelerator Contest for technology startups organized by the RVC and the Moscow Center for Development and sponsored by the Moscow City Hall. CleanTech finalists will enter the semifinals of the main contest where they will have a chance to compete for the right to present their projects to investors at the Open Innovation international forum in Moscow and for a chance to win RUB 5 million in prize money as well as special prizes from contest partners. The most successful projects of the CleanTech Track will also qualify for the finals of the Cleantech Open Global Forum in California, one of the most prestigious international contests for clean-technology startups, to be held on November 13–14, 2014.
