The Tomsk State University (TSU) and the Technology Park at Academgorodok, Novosibirsk, have signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the BioTechMed acceleration program. Oleg Malsagov, managing director of the TSU Innovative Technology Business Incubator, emphasized especially the strong demand for the BioTechMed Program not only among companies active in the center, but also with the infrastructure organizations developing biotech projects.
TSU is the official acceleration platform for the nationwide 2014 GenerationS Projects for technology startups, and its collaboration with the technology park has a very strong significance and value for the contest.
“We have agreed with Maria Galyamova, Director of the Academgorodok Technology Park for Biomedicine and Biotechnology that they will support our program,” Oleg Malsagov said. “Our Novosibirsk-based colleagues are ready to participate in the project in expert capacity.”
The BioTechMed Track Accelerators is looking for applications from Russian teams in such areas as biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, who are ready to face off against strong competition, undergo a rigorous selection process and fight for RUB 5 million in prize money in the finals. Applications are accepted through June 30, after which the competing projects will be evaluated by independent experts in the Russian Startup Rating (RSR) assessment. All in all, 17 regional meetings are planned, with those in Khabarovsk, Barnaul, Biysk, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Yekateriburg, Moscow and St. Petersburg still coming up.
