NUMA Moscow is the first international accelerator program in Russia; it became a partner of GenerationS 2015. Within the framework of collaboration the organizers of NUMA Moscow are prepared to give at least one first prize in its program to the finalists and winners of GenerationS.
NUMA Moscow is the first international technological and innovation hub in Russia which offers its accelerator program to entrepreneurs wishing to expand their business on the global scale. And because the interests of NUMA are quite far-reaching and include, inter alia, Fintech, Adtech, Agtech, Edtech, Big Data, Smart Cities, Telecom, Renewable Energies, the best chances among GenerationS projects are those of the following corporate tracks: SmartCity, Robotics, Power&Energy, BiotechMed, and Telecom Idea.
NUMA project was launched 15 years ago in Paris as a local innovation and technological hub; it was consequently the first accelerator in France. Now NUMA is a global innovation network which spans from Bangalore to Moscow (by 2019 NUMA seed accelerator will have presence in 15 countries).
The company selected by the team of NUMA Moscow among the finalists and winners of GenerationS will be able to attract its first investment from the accelerator NUMA (EUR 25 thousand for 10% equity), and just like the other 12 companies-participants it will gain a fee access to the accelerator program. The program events will take place in the office of NUMA downtown Moscow. Part of the program will take place in Paris, so that the program participants could learn more about the French innovative ecosystem.
The program’s language is English, and additional English language courses will be offered to the participants during the program.
In Tomsk, a program for corporate acceleration for biotech- and medical projects will be launched. On October 26, Tomsk State University jointly with RVC will launch a two-week program for corporate seed acceleration for BiotechMed projects within the federal accelerator GenerationS.
In 2015, BiotechMed projects became ‘number two’ most popular projects among the participants of GenerationS 2015: 380 applications from 74 cities have been filed. The most popular topics of the projects included the development of new pharmaceutical medicines and diagnostics systems (95 applications), medical equipment and machinery (91 applications), and agribusiness technologies and veterinary technologies (58 applications).
Based on the results of the first stage of GenerationS (July – August) 19 best startups were invited to Tomsk to partake in the corporate accelerator which is conducted with the support of Pharmkontrakt, production association Sibbiopharm, and the Russian representative office of Johnson&Johnson.
“Our corporate partners are interested in the developments by the program participants, therefore we started working with the projects long before the official start of this corporate accelerator, – said Olga Babkina, Deputy Vice President for Scientific Work at Tomsk State University, executive Director of Tomsk Consortium – In the course of two weeks we should help package the projects, help them submit realistic proposals to investors and venture funds, so that Demo Day becomes the next step in their development, and so that they find partners who would be willing to invest in them.”
This year the track participants should expect an event-rich agenda including roundtables and workshops featuring representatives of various corporations and venture funds, as well as dedicated tours of pharmaceutical and biotechnological production facilities, as well as lectures by the leading Russian and international market- and business experts. Representatives of other projects will have the opportunity to network with experts from transnational companies including Johnson&Johnson, PlaTCOM Ventures, Sanofi and others, who will share their views on the issues of development of BiotechMed and promotion of their developments on global markets.
The key speakers at the corporate accelerator BiotechMed GenerationS included RVC General Director Evgeny Kuznetsov, Innovations Director at Johnson&Johnson Christoph Janssen, Partner with Abercade Research Company Nadezhda Orlova, IROC Science AG Consultant Pavel Zakharov, Managing Partner with Ebitda Marketing Andrey Rukavishnikov, and many others.
Throughout the training sessions at the accelerator its participants will prepare themselves for the final pitch session before the expert community and investors which will take place on November 7th within the framework of the I Congress “Russia’s Healthcare: Technologies for Rapid Development.” Five best projects based on the Demo Day will be selected for the Super Finals of GenerationS and they will compete for the RUB 10 million prize fund and various prizes from the partners.
