The participants of the forum were more than 30 projects related to GenerationS, and the experts are mentors and organizers of GenerationS. Today’s program of the Forum is dedicated to performance. The focus is on production automation and robotics, new materials and the development of 3D-printing, the achievements of modern engineering, digital technology and artificial intelligence, i.e., the technologies that are able to change the organization of production and increase productivity in almost all industries.
The exhibit of RVC, the organizer of GenerationS and co-organizer of Open Innovations, presents the monitoring/measuring and search/diagnostic tools made by TEKHNOAS-SC LLC. The devices are intended for the search for elements of the utilities system located in the ground or in the structures of buildings. The first device looks for electrical cables, determines their position, the location of cable break and the current strength. The second one operates with heat and water supply networks to detect the damaged areas with the use of an acoustic sensor, as the water comes out from a broken pipe at a sufficiently high pressure. The visitors to the exhibit could examine the devices, learn about the principles of their operation and assess how these can be useful in the development of municipal services and construction.
RVC exhibit also featured MyGenetics project. Its product is the genetic passport, a personal DNA report in the form of a glossy brochure with clear and detailed interpretations of the results of DNA analysis and the recommendations for a healthy lifestyle: it provides detailed advice on nutrition and the type of exercise suitable for the person. The project, which is intended primarily for those who want to lose weight and get fit, attracts a lot of interest of the visitors to the exhibit.
The object that attracted close attention of the visitors of the forum is one more project presented at RVC’s exhibit; this is Bitronics construction kit, which includes such modules as Bluetooth, ECG, MG, heart rate monitor, and others. The kit can be used to make some very simple gadgets like fitness bracelets, basic ECG machines, and many other things: it depends on your needs and your imagination. All the visitors to the exhibit had a chance to try themselves in the role of engineers in medical technology.
Today, in the start-up area of Technology Show one can see the following projects participating in GenerationS: in Robotics zone — SapfiR, a domestic assistant, which always reminds about the current needs and wishes of all family members and finds the best way to meet those needs and wishes; in Biotech zone — a disposable syringe with a corrugated middle part, which is more compact, environmentally friendly and cheaper than an ordinary one, produced by Stricta LLC; in Cleantech zone — a new generation Innovative Tubular Heating Element by Teplogen; in Industrial zone — CrocoTime, a clocking-in and working hours analysis system.
Every day of a large-scale start-up show is held at Open Innovation, with the pitches of the projects presented to the expert community and the entire audience of the forum. After the end of the show, the best startup of Open Innovations will be determined. Today GenerationS presented a project which has already become famous — Dmitry Lopatin’s Printed solar cell, that is, solar panels on the basis of perovskite, a new semiconductor material. The panels can be printed with a printer. Dmitry’s pitch was catchy, and the interest of the experts showed in their numerous questions: "How much does the output decrease on a cloudy day?" (only by 20%), "Have you protected your intellectual property?" (Patents have been received for the technology and the manufacturing equipment), "Who are the key customers?" (First of all, these are construction companies that need large amounts of energy).
This thesis was proved by an offer announced at the startup show by Morton Group of Companies, a corporate partner GenerationS-2015: to place Lopatin’s solar cells on the surface of the hot air balloon by which Fedor Konyukhov is going to make his round-the-world trip sponsored by the corporation. This is going to be access to the most unusual launch of a product on the global market ever!
The second project of GenerationS at the startup show is the finalist of GenerationS of 2013 and 2014, Biomicrogeli project (Ekaterinburg), by the developer of innovative solutions for water cleaning from oil, ions of metals and other types of complex contaminations. Artyom Sotnikov, the founder of Biomicrogeli, noted in his pitch that every hour industry pollutes over 30 tons of water, and over 50 million tons of polluted water is discharged every year. It is hardly surprising that, having such a huge market, the project attracts the attention of investors and corporations. The interest is also due to the fact that Biomicrogeli have a waste recycling technology for an in-house water treatment plant. And the second representative of GenerationS was also offered cooperation from the GC Morton right on the show: the corporation wants to discuss the use of technology for the treatment of wastewater.
