A GenerationS Participant has been Recognized as one of the Best Startups at Open Innovations Forum

On November 1, the expert jury of Open Innovations has identified the top five startups of the Forum and the technology show.

The winner in the "Environment" category was LighTech project, a member of SmartCity GenerationS accelerator. The winners received prizes from the partners and an invitation to a business breakfast with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

LighTech is a flexible continuous linear light source based on electroluminescent material, with a wide range of applications. The development enables fast and well-organized evacuation of large numbers of people and can be used in the military, in industrial settings, in mines and speleological missions. The system makes it possible to reduce considerably the number of people involved in the rescue operations and in the evacuation of the military and the population. It helps to determine the direction of movement and organize the evacuation in the situations of poor visibility because of fog, in smoke-filled areas, in the ruins of buildings, on rough terrain and in muddy water.

In addition to the status of the best project of Open Innovations, LighTech received a certificate from IBM to use the company’s cloud services, and a certificate from Microsoft for the participation in BizSpark program. It came as a surprise that all the winner startups were invited to a breakfast meeting with Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

"Our primary goal at Open Innovations was to present our product, to meet potential investors and partners and to establish business relationships. And we managed to do it: after our participation in the startup show we received some investment offers and started to work with the potential investors,” says Naira Davidson, LighTech CEO.

"We did not expect to get so many prizes, they are very useful to us, because we have wanted to develop in the field of Internet of things for a long time, and now we have the necessary resources,” Ildar Sadykov, another participant of the project, said.

Congratulations to LighTech on its victory and good luck to all GenerationS startups which took part in Open Innovations.
