RVC and Skolkovo to join efforts in holding Open Innovations Start-up Tour
Development institutions have presented a large-scale mechanism to support start-ups in the framework of the Road Map for the coordination of activities.
RVC and Skolkovo Foundation within the framework of the Moscow International Forum of Innovative Development "Open Innovations" introduced a new mechanism for the development of start-ups. The joint project will be launched in the framework of the synchronization of efforts of Russian institutions to work with the business community and will bring together the existing instruments of state support for start-ups. The project will be launched under the brand name Open Innovations Start-up Tour.
Creating a single mechanism to support start-ups will ultimately expand entrepreneurs' opportunities will help to optimise the efforts to find and grow innovation companies. Resources of the GenerationS accelerator - the largest one in Russia and Eastern Europe organized by RVC will reinforce the regional network of the project, will allow carrying out of the assessment and acceleration of start-ups. Skolkovo will give entrepreneurs a wide range of opportunities that exist within the framework of the Start-up tour, Start-up Village and other key projects of the Foundation. Also, within a single mechanism to support start-ups, the selection of projects in the "START" program of Innovation Support Fund is provided.
Open Innovations Start-up Tour will be implemented during 2017 in several stages:
In the first stage, from January to April 2017, a joint regional tour of development institutions will be held in 12 cities of Russia, aimed at finding new projects. Directions and selection parameters of start-ups are planned to define in February 2017. Within the framework of the tour, the following events will be held on the basis of existing projects: Start-up Tour (Skolkovo Foundation), GenerationS, including regional consulting practice sessions, and regional programs of acceleration (RVC). Also, the selection of projects for the program "Start" is planned (FSBI "Innovation Assistance Fund").
The universal joint examination of projects by the teams of GenerationS, Skolkovo Foundation and the Innovation Support Fund will take place at the second stage. At this stage, start-ups will be able to submit an additional application for the grant programs "START" and "EGGHEAD".
At the third stage, it is scheduled to select the best projects for participation in the programs of acceleration Start-up Village of "Skolkovo" Foundation and BootCamp GenerationS from RVC.
The fourth stage will include the holding of the clusters of Skolkovo Foundation and NTI working groups on the basis of the GenerationS acceleration programs in accordance with the demands of Russian corporations.
The Final of the Open Innovations Start-up Tour, presentation of the results of joint work and awarding of winners will take place in the framework of the "Open Innovations" Forum in 2017. As a result, a consolidated club of the Open Innovations Start-up Tour alumni will be created, with which development institutions will work on a regular basis.

Within the framework of the integration of existing supporting mechanisms for start-ups, the winners of the GenerationS Super Final, which will take place in March 2017, will fall into the semi-final of Start-up Village. Among the applications for participation in the Start-up tour, the RVC experts will select projects for the Preaccelerator of GenerationS 2017. The winners of the trip will also get to the Preaccelerator in the start-up capital, which will be selected in October 2016.
