Mining&Metals corporate accelerator arranged by GenerationS has begun

17 startup teams in the field of metallurgy and diamond mining will pass through a training course and will get an opportunity to launch joint projects with the corporate customers.

On November 22, in Moscow, Mining&Metals corporate accelerator, arranged by the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe start-up accelerator GenerationS, has begun.

Track operator is the Innovation Infrastructure of the Ural Federal University (Yekaterinburg, UrFU). From 250 teams that submitted applications for participation in the track, 38 projects in the field of metallurgy and diamond mining were admitted by the industrial partners for final presentation.

Following the results of the presentations, 17 teams were selected for participation in the corporate accelerator. Krastsvetmet OJSC selected 11 projects for further competition, 6 more projects were selected by the experts from ALROSA JSA. During the following two months the finalists will pass through the intensified educational program held on the base of the track corporate partners — Krastsvetmet OJSC and ALROSA JSA.

Scope of Mining&Metals track directions is quite extensive — refining, new powdered and composite materials based on them, extremely precise metal work and additive technologies for manufacturing of the products from precious metals, geological prospecting and exploration and methods of geophysical prospecting and some other directions.

Teams geography is quite extensive as well. Participants of the Mining&Metals corporate accelerators are innovators from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Novosibirsk, Samara, Magnitogorsk, Yurga, Kalinigrad, Krasnoyarsk and Ust-Kamenogorsk.

On the first stage, finalist teams together with the mentors and representatives of the possible customers will create roadmaps for development and working out of their products. Work on improvement of the projects technological constituents and testing of their market potential will progress within the framework of a one-month online training course. Then, in January 2017, the teams will be able, during the advanced individual work with the special coaches and experts, to analyse opportunities for development and transfer of the complicated high-tech production technologies to the industry.

The final part of the corporate accelerator will be held in two cities — in Krasnoyarsk, on the base of the largest in Russia precious metals refinery Krastsvetmet OJSC, and in Mirny, on the site of the global leader in diamond mining ALROSA JSA. Final stage of the accelerator, in February 2017, will be the DemoDay where the teams will present their developments to the track corporate partners.
