Four-day GenerationS intensive Bootcamp training was held in Moscow

On November 18-21, an onsite Bootcamp session of the largest in Russia and Eastern Europe start-up accelerator GenerationS arranged by RVC was held in Moscow on the venues of DI Telegraph and FizTechPark. During the four days, the applicant teams took part in mentor sessions, workshops, trainings and presented their projects to investors, representatives of partner corporations and experts.

Following the results of the intensive training, 120 strongest start-ups were determined that will become participants of eight corporate accelerators. Project teams will receive a wide range of business opportunities: personal mentors, expert support, foreign training, assistance in attracting investment and project preparation to enter the market. And most importantly — access to the resources of major Russian corporations.

The onsite expertise of the GenerationS projects was conducted at Bootcamp on the venue of the largest co-working in Russia — FizTechPark that became an official event partner. The operator of the event was the company GVA LaunchGurus. During the four days more than 300 technology entrepreneurs from all over the country developed their managements and presentation skills at workshops, seminars and trainings.

During the intensive training, Bootcamp participants were able to meet the potential corporate customers — representatives of the leading Russian and international companies from different business industries. Selection and expertise of the projects was made for the benefit of corporations-partners of GenerationS including more than 20 largest Russian companies: Moscow Exchange, QIWI, Visa, Morton SC and Russian Technology Society, Severny Biopharmaceutical cluster, KrasTsetMet OJSC, EFCO SC, Sher Oston company, Irkutsk Power Grid Company, SAP Saturn PJSC and others.

Within the framework of Bootcamp, partners zone was arranged at FizTechPark, where the participants were able to communicate with the representatives of corporations, receive practical advice and recommendations related to projects optimization, preparation of presentations subject to demands of the potential investors.

The largest international technology corporations stood out as the official partners of Bootcamp by GenerationS. IBM company provided to the teams access to IBM Bluemix cloud platform used all over the world to create and deploy applications. The platform provides developers with more than 150 ready-made services. They help startups process data generated by mobile and social networks as well as by customer devices, gauges and sensors.

Experts from Microsoft told to Bootcamp participants of the possible formats of cooperation between the technology entrepreneurs and the corporation. «Participants of GenerationS, GVA, IIDF and Skolkovo can apply for mentor support and technological expertise from our company and for the grant of up to $ 120 thousand of Microsoft Azure cloud resources. You use our cloud — we are interested in your promotion and opening new markets,» Konstantin Goldstein technical evangelist of Microsoft said.

On the second and third days of Bootcamp, panel discussions, seminars and workshops were held which were devoted to market research and segmentation, product positioning, preparation of presentations and other issues critical to technology entrepreneurs. Strategy Director of Moscow Exchange Anton Govor, Executive Director of the Development Center of BPC Severny, Chief Specialist of Krastsvetmet OJSC Igor Shimanskiy, CEO of the innovation center Biruch-NT of EFCO SC Tatyana Sanina, head of the R&D department of EuroSinEnergo JSC Anna Korotchenkova, member of GenerationS Supervisory Board, Strategy Director of Publicis Russia Dragord Knezi and IT Director of Mail. ru Group Aleksandr Gornyi spoke at the panel discussion related to cooperation models between the corporations and start-ups.

For example, big data: we have huge amount of data and start-ups can help us create new products and services based on it — Anton Govor emphasised in its speech. — we are ready to integrate these services in the exchange structure».

Besides, we have an extensive network of partners to whom we can offer your solutions,» — Igor Shmanskiy reported to Bootcamp participants.

As Tatyana Sanina noticed, EFCO SC considers possible options to purchase perspective startups and technologies and licensing of copyright for intellectual property objects.

The leading architects of Raiffeisenbank Aleksandr Voronitsyn and Roman Yankov held a workshop of the banks of future, Corporate Development Director of Gars Telecom Roman Maslikhov told of innovation in B2B telecommunications, Technical Consultant of Cloud IBM Timur Markunin — about cloud technologies serving startups, Business Development Mnager of Kamaflow Arin Rauf — about types of investment presentations for a startup. Microsoft expert Konstantin Goldstein held a workshop devoted to the third wave of financial technologies. Theme of a workshop conducted by the Director of new media of Sher Oston production center Andrey Vasilenko was «Psychology of perception of creative and media products by the modern audience».

On the final day of Bootcamp, the teams made presentations of their projects to the experts, investors and corporate partners. Following the results of selection, 120 best startups in eight industry directions were determined: AgroBioTech&Food (10), Сreative Industries (20), Finance&Banking Technologies (20), LifeScience (10), Mining&Metals (17), Power&Еnergy (13), SmartCity (13), TechNet (17). GenerationS — largest in Russia platform for development of corporate acceleration toolbox. In 2015, we tried a new accelerator format that allowed Russian big business to make first steps in work with the projects on the open market. Teams that passed through selection for Bootcamp will become participants of corporate accelerators that will be held from November 2016 to February 2017 on the base of partner corporations. Finalists will be able to improve their products in constant interaction with the potential customer, test business model and prepare the project for successful launch on the market. The final stage of the corporate accelerators will be Demo Day where the projects will be presented to the investment committee and R&D board of the partner corporation.

Names of the winner teams will be announced at GenerationS super final in March 2017. The GenerationS-2016 prize fund will amount to 15 million rubles. Total value of prizes from the partners will exceed 100 million rubles.

Today, GenerationS partner network includes more than 250 state organizations and commercial companies ready to provide financial and expert support to novice entrepreneurs. The Fund for Innovation Support, GenerationS development partner will provide grants to the best projects in UMNIK and Start programs. Kamaflow investment partner will invest up to 100 thousand USD in the perspective GenerationS project. GenerationS-2016 teams can also apply for victory in the special nominations from Gars Telecom, Raiffeisenbank, SAP and SUEK. Among GenerationS partners are Skolkovo Open University, AMEDIA, Publicis Communications Russia, VTB 24, BCS Broker, ALROSA, Rostelecom.
