RVC launches six corporate accelerators under the GenerationS-2017

RVC has defined six tracks of the largest start-up accelerator in Russia and Eastern Europe GenerationS for three years ahead. The line may be completed with special corporate tracks upon partners' request during each cycle of GenerationS. Start-up teams may apply for participation in GenerationS-2017 till the 30th of September.

RVC in cooperation with industrial partners will generate corporate accelerators on GenerationS platform by providing them with expertise and infrastructure to develop “open innovations” model tools. The line-up of customers for each GenerationS-2017 is currently being finalized.

START-UPS SELECTION AND TEAMS TRAINING WILL BE PERFORMED IN FOLLOWING AREAS:

  • Agro&MedTech — high technology in biomedicine and agriculture;
  • Creative — digital technology in media, design and culture;
  • Power&Energy — power engineering solutions;
  • Fintech — financial technologies, services and E-commerce;
  • Mining&Metals — developments in the field of metallurgy and mining industry;
  • TechNet — advanced manufacturing technologies.

It will be possible to file an application for GenerationS-2017 until the end of September. Afterwards, the projects will undergo an online expertise — they will be evaluated by technology and business experts and then considered by industrial partners. Following the selection results, several hundred teams will gather in November at a Startup BootCamp, a full-time intensive program featuring leading Russian business trainers, mentors and corporate experts. Following its results, the GenerationS partner companies will select the most promising projects into their accelerators.

GenerationS-2017 corporate tracks will start their work in November. As part of the initial training, there will be educational programs, which take into account the industry specifics of the accelerators. Then the teams will focus on individual work. Afterwards, they will correct their products, test business models and prepare project for market release in cooperation with industrial partners. The final round of GenerationS-2017 will be held in 2018.

In addition to launching six main GenerationS tracks, RVC will develop a platform for conducting additional corporate accelerators which may be organized during the year upon partners' request and integrated in GenerationS line.

The Pre-accelerator, a federal development program for early stage projects, will be restarted for start-up technology entrepreneurs under GenerationS-2017. Among its participants are teams with pre-seed and seed projects which will enjoy high appreciation during online expertise and industrial partners' interest. The applicants will be offered to pass through online training and full-time educational program, level up their start-ups, which will increase their chances for participation in the next-year corporate accelerator.
“The model of corporate acceleration is becoming more attractive for Russian companies that have just started working with the tools of “open innovation”. At GenerationS 2017 we are launching six tracks that will be in permanent operation for three years. In addition, at the request of our partners we will model additional accelerators to search for technologies in the foreign market and prepare them for integration into production processes,” comments RVC CEO Alexander Povalko.

The projects of GenerationS 2016 were selected and accelerated in cooperation with 20 Russian companies including QIWI, Moscow exchange, VISA, Raiffeisenbank, NPO Saturn, Krastsvetmet JCS, Severny biopharmaceutical cluster, EuroSibEnergo JSC, ALROSA diamond extracting company, EFCO government corporation, Russian technical society, Publicis Communications Russia and others. The corporate tracks featured 120 start-up teams. Within a month after the completion of GenerationS, more than 50 of them entered into cooperation agreements with accelerator partners, launched pilot projects and raised investments.
