As many as fourteen finalists who successfully passed the Preaccelerator gathered on April 27 at Tesla.Place to defend their projects within the final of GenerationS-2017, a federal accelerator for technology start-ups.
Over three months, the participants have been on an intensive online training program, attended on-site workshops and master classes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Tomsk, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan and Samara, and received valuable recommendations and comments from their mentors, experts and investors.
As a result of project presentations, the jury selected three start-ups, which became prize winners of the GenerationS Preaccelerator.
The winner was a project from Voronezh named "Creation of a Complex Additive for Biodestruction of Polymers" by Alyona Surkova, Lyubov Studenikina, Vladimir Korchagin and Maxim Maltsev. The project team established the production of a complex highly efficient oxobio-degradable additive in the form of granules - masterbatch. Advantage of the technology - price reduction by 40% compared to counterparts as well as an increase in environmental friendliness due to reduction in the concentration of gaseous polymer degradation products. The product can be used to create films, bags, trays, containers and other forms of polymer products.
The second place was taken by the project of Alexander Shubin from Yekaterinburg "SkinCancerStop - a Mobile App for Early Diagnosis of Malignant Skin Tumors". The app is a tool for medical professionals used during periodic health checks and medical examinations. SkinCancerStop helps carry out automatic differential diagnostics based on photos between malignant and benign skin tumours and identify patient risk groups for the development of melanoma and skin cancer after filling out a test questionnaire, sending them to a detailed examination afterwards.
The third place was occupied by the project by Alexei Bersh and Alexander Katolikov from Syktyvkar "Medical Robotic Unit for Recovery of Human Body Motor Functions", which was developed for the comprehensive recovery and maintenance of motor functions of the organism lost by humans through simultaneous use of transcranial magnetic stimulation and programmable locomotor mechanotherapy. The method makes it possible to preserve and increase the functional activity of all the components of the motor unit (motor neuron and innervated muscle fibres), thus restoring the functional motor system of the body damaged as a result of a disease. The main social effect is an increase in the total number of successful rehabilitations of paralyzed people from the usual 20% up to 40-45% due to the uniqueness of the created technology.
"The victory in the final of the Federal GenerationS Preaccelerator was a big surprise for us", told Alyona Surkova sharing her emotions with us. "We’ve managed to get acquainted with the representatives of GC NMZhK as well as with several venture investors and business angels. This is the first experience for us; it's very nice to realize that the project is interesting to other people as well. We express our gratitude to the jury, who highly appreciated our project, to the organizers of Preaccelerator for intensive elaboration on the project in the course of training as well as for valuable advice".
