ChelPipe Group and GenerationS have completed accepting applications for the accelerator

Since January 15 until March 31, GenerationS and ChelPipe collected more than 300 applications from Russian and international startups. The experts of ChelPipe Group and corporate accelerator GenerationS from RVC have already started the evaluation process of the projects. This Summer 30 most promising teams will present their innovative solutions for the pipe industry to the management of ChelPipe Group.

Teams from Russia, USA, France, Finland, Israel, Canada, Japan, South Korea, India, Mexico and the CIS countries take part in the ChelPipe accelerator. 200 projects confirmed compliance with the basic requirements of the program and passed pre-selection process. It is important to highlight that 30% of the announced teams are already piloting their solutions, and more than 20% do the serial production.

A preliminary assessment of the projects demonstrated a high demand from both Russian and international startups. All projects are ready to seek opportunities for business development, despite the new economic reality and difficult epidemiological situation.

Most of the startups presented developments in following areas: new types of products and materials, alternative products-substitutes for traditional steel pipes, computer vision systems for existing production, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies for the pipe industry.

Kirill Nikitin, Technical Director at ChelPipe Group noted, “The ChelPipe Group for the first time launched a corporate accelerator, and the key stage of our project came at a difficult time for the Russian economy. Despite the possible risks, we got a result that doubled our expectations: 300 projects and 103 offers from foreign startups, and more than 65% of relevant solutions. We see projects, who already can work with production facilities, and we will do everything we can to implement the best of them”.

Ekaterina Petrova, Managing director at GenerationS corporate accelerator by RVC commented, “In the near future the important work will be done by experts related to the projects evaluation. They will select the most effective solutions that can be implemented into the ChelPipe Group production cycle. Among the projects that have applied for participation in the Accelerator, there are very strong Russian and foreign startups. We are positives that presented advanced technologies will make a great contribution to the development of the metallurgical industry and will receive wide demand after refinement”.

In June 2020, 30 startups will present their projects to the management of the ChelPipe Group, 15 of them will launch pilots at the company's high-tech facilities. Startups with the opportunity for long-term implementation will be announced in late summer – early autumn of 2020.
