ChelPipe Group and GenerationS selected 14 projects for the accelerator

More than 50 Russian and international startups presented innovative solutions for the pipe industry at the online bootcamp. ChelPipe Group and GenerationS experts selected 14 projects that will pass through the industrial acceleration phase.

12 Russian and 2 foreign projects, that presented the most promising and competitive solutions for ChelPipe Group were selected for the next acceleration stage. Teams from Russian cities such as Moscow, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Perm, Ekaterinburg, St. Petersburg and Magnitogorsk, and foreign startups from United Kingdom and Spain as was determined by the jury will go through the industrial acceleration stage. Among the main areas of selected technological developments: innovative products replacing traditional steel pipes and coatings, energy efficient and environmentally friendly technologies for the pipe industry and machine vision systems.

Selected startups will conduct pilots and R&D of their solutions at the ChelPipe Group facilities during the industrial acceleration program, which will continue until autumn. The projects that successfully passed the program will receive an opportunity for a long-term cooperation with the partner. Such projects are planned to be determined in September at the Demo Day.

”We have reached the final and the most important stage in the framework of our joint accelerator with ChelPipe Group. Despite the current world’s situation, the teams of ChelPipe Group and GenerationS were able to hold the bootcamp within planned deadlines and in online format which proved to be as successful as the offline one. Teams not only from Russia but also from abroad were selected for the next stage. For us, the participation of foreign startups is always a good indicator – it means they are interested and ready to scale up their solutions to the new markets. During the selection of projects, a detailed expert assessment was carried out by colleagues from the ChelPipe Group, who conducted an in-depth analysis of each technology for its effectiveness for the plant facilities. It was crucial to consider not only the applied capabilities of the technology at a particular enterprise of the ChelPipe Group, but also to see its potential impact on the metallurgy industry in general. We hope that the selected projects will be able to carry out join pilot projects this autumn, which will lead to a long fruitful cooperation” - commented Ekaterina Petrova, director of GenerationS corporate accelerator.

Additional projects, whose participation will be determined by the accelerator's experts in the nearest future, might also join the program. The intensive work of startups with the ChelPipe Group will last until mid-September and will be followed up by the Demo day, which determined which projects receive an opportunity for the long-term cooperation with the company.

”ChelPipe Group selects the best solutions to achieve a high multiplier effect from innovations in the company and the industry in general. The company focuses on the development of new safe pipe manufacturing technologies, as well as increasing operational efficiency through automation and digitalization of production. I am positive that the launch of the industrial acceleration phase will be an important step for the long-term cooperation of the ChelPipe Group and the start-up teams”, - commented Anton Gizatullin, Head of the New Products Department at ChelPipe Group.
