GenerationS to Become World's First Platform for Corporate Start-Up Accelerators
RVC has defined the concept of the federal technology startup accelerator GenerationS-2015. This year the GenerationS infrastructure will be used to create corporate and industrial accelerators in joint effort with local corporations.
Project acceleration in GenerationS-2015 will be in six industry areas identified based on the actual needs of Russian corporations:

technologies and materials in the oil and gas sector; |

modern power generation; |
|
high technology and industrial tools for the aerospace industry; |
|
automatic and robotic systems and complexes. |
Thus, the best technology start-ups selected by the results of a multi-stage examination will be able to modify their projects together with experts of Russian companies interested in finding promising developments in the open market.
'This year, both the GenerationS model itself and its ideology will change dramatically,' said Gulnara Bikkulova, Member of the Board and Director of Innovation Markets Department at RVC. 'We're creating a platform that will make it possible for Russian corporations to become part of an existing innovation ecosystem of universities, incubators, technology parks, investors, development institutions, etc. and test various "open innovation" tools. In turn, our partners involved in development of start-ups will have access to expertise and other resources of our corporate partners.'
GenerationS was launched by RVC in 2013, becoming the first federal-scale accelerator of technology start-ups in Russia. In 2014, as part of GenerationS, industry accelerators in areas such as BiotechMed, Cleantech, IT, and Industrial were presented in Russia for the first time. In 2015 GenerationS is to become the world's first platform for corporate and industrial accelerators oriented to the needs of Russian and international corporations.
Each corporate accelerator (track) of GenerationS will be organized in cooperation with RVC, a partner corporation and operator of the track having expertise in assessment and development of start-ups. The search for projects to participate in the accelerator will be done through a regional partner network of GenerationS, bringing together start-up schools, business incubators, universities, and other participants in the innovation ecosystem working with start-ups.
Partner corporations of the accelerator will be announced at the official launch of GenerationS-2015 to be held in late April.
