On 27 June, the official ceremony for the GenerationS Innovation Award 2023 (GIA) celebrated the most successful cases of implementing innovation within corporations. The award was organized by GenerationS — a corporate innovation platform and the largest corporate accelerator in Russia — with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation.
One of the main aims of the award is to analyze and assess cases regarding the development of innovative products. In this period of economic turbulence, it is especially important to help businesses implement technological solutions that are required for working on the country’s priorities.
Ekaterina Petrova, Director of GenerationS corporate innovation platform: "Large corporations are becoming the key platform for developing and implementing Russian technologies. In addition, the geopolitical situation and the difficulties in entering foreign markets make it ever more important to work with internal corporate innovations. Technology is a key component in building a strong, robust and client-focused business. GenerationS sees the organization of its own corporate innovation award as not only an opportunity to celebrate best practices but also to look deep into the market, understand trends and moods and how companies from different industries are changing their approach to working with innovation. Our goal is to collect open information, which will become the basis for the first Russian corporate innovation research and, in addition to interesting cases and useful analytics, will show measurable results of companies' innovation activities".
First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Vasily Osmakov: “The innovation activities of companies are of key importance in successfully resolving the tasks of import substitution and ensuring technological sovereignty. The GIA Award is just the ideal event to showcase the very best practices and projects. This is also an additional opportunity for the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia to pay more attention to promising niches, products and directions in the sphere of innovations".
Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Kolesnikov: "Innovations are the driving force of economic development. This is why promoting technology entrepreneurship is an important task that GIA aims to realize. Investors can find out about new promising projects. These platforms help to improve cooperation between participants. This results in a growing ecosystem that fosters the emergence of new startups and accelerates the development of existing ones."
